Italy workation, Romania, and Portugal ✈️

The last couple of months have been quite a bit of traveling. Two pre-planned trips and one quite impromptu one to just get away somewhere warm for a bit.

Italy workation

The entire QA.tech team went to Piedmont, Italy, to stay at a castle for 3 days.

Most of us are in Sweden, but our awesome colleagues from the US and Poland came, too, all swooping into one place for a few days of workshops, hackathons, eating, and beautiful views.

It was wonderful, and warm, and I did some running while there. I also learned to make pasta from scratch and resolved to get my own pasta roller.

Romania

Soon after that, I went to Bucharet to see family.

Portugal

This last week, I took a bit of a last-minute trip to Portugal for a reset. I haven’t been there before and found a points flight to Faro. It was really nice to just be able to get up and work from another country for a few days.

I went with no plan, so I just wandered around, ate some nice food, and explored at lunch and after work. I also went for a 10km run. It was not a perfect trip, with a bit of a scary thing happening as well as a personal thing making things difficult, but I’m so fortunate that I got to just get up and have a mini adventure.

On the last day I met a fellow traveler and she told me about Tavira, a beautiful little city an hour away from Faro by train. We ended up going there together for a day trip before I went to the airport.

Give time
