I’ve been slowly building up the apartment since I moved. When it comes to anything interior-related, I’m a pretty slow shopper. Mostly because I’m completely incompetent at it, but also because I kind of want to find furniture that I’ll want to keep for a good amount of time and not just stock up on random things as quickly as possible.
And sometimes, my plans go completely off the rails. Kind of like I thought I was going to go for a simple, minimalistic feel in the bedroom. Until I stumbled across this hand-carved headboard that reminded me of a fairy tale:
Is it the opposite of everything I had originally envisioned? Yes. Do I love it? Also yes.
Now I get to slowly decorate the rest of the room around it to feel like I’m falling asleep and waking up in a forest fantasy land. I need to get some art up on the walls (why is picking frames so hard?) And a different lamp (already have an idea). And a rug (the trickiest thing to choose, I think). And when the armchair arrives there’s going to be a reading nook!
Rigel loves sitting on the bedroom sill and looking out at the trees.
He’s so content here. The cats have more space and a better view. I can’t wait to cozify the balcony for them (and me, of course) for summer. The plan is to make another attempt at growing climbing roses. It almost worked out in Täby, and I have the South-facing balcony to try again now; I think I’ll do better this time.
I’ve already ordered the two varieties I want to try growing. The first being another attempt at Rosa Camelot:
And the second being a Rosa Helenae:
The roses should come in a couple of weeks. The wooden floor tiles are already ready for pickup, so I’ll probably install those this weekend.
