I thought I’d post a quick update on my kvass making initiative. There’s not really much of an update. The five fermentation days are up and my kvass smells like beer and tastes like it, too. I don’t know if it tastes like good beer as I don’t like beer, so to me it’s pretty darn horrible. What a waste! I guess I’ll just have to buy some fake plastic-bottled kvass from Amazon.com
But my kitchen adventures aren’t over yet. I got an email from Nuffnang about the Blogger Challenge for this month. The challenge is to cook a dish I’d take to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party! The winner gets a $150 voucher for an experience from Red Balloon.
I know, I know, judging by my little kvass project gone wrong I probably shouldn’t be trying to prepare any crazy dishes - but I really want to! So I will. Now it’s just a matter of deciding what I want to attempt to make.
I definitely want it to be a dessert of some sort. Maybe I’ll mash up several different awesome looking desserts into one big superdish! The deadline for submissions is October 30 anyway, so I’d better get started.
