Back to the Cat Care Guide

  • There are 3 litter boxes:
    • 1 big one at the top of the stairs from the entrance
    • 1 big one tucked into the nook behind the white table that is outside the bedrooms
    • 1 small one in the main bedroom
  • They are used to having their boxes cleaned twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. So just check out the box for any clumps when you’re there :)
  • There is a garbage can for litter in the cupboard near the hall (near the first big litter box)
  • There is extra litter in the same closet as above if a box needs to be topped up (probably not)
  • Rigel has a history of urinary problems. If possible keep an eye on how many pee clumps you extract from the boxes. Should be more than one per day. Usually we see 2-4 clumps per day for both cats. Even better if you actually happen to see him pee while you’re there!
  • You may notice that the poops you find in the box are on the dry-er harder side. Since they eat grain free food this is normal :) Anything too soft would actually be a little more weird to see.
  • You might find some really big pee clumps. This is normal (both cats have quite large pees, but Rigel’s can be crazy big: not only does he have a naturally big bladder, but it has also been distended and stretched after his issues so now he pees higher volumes)
