I'm going to Melbourne! Panasonic Insider Crew

I’m going to Melbourne!

I got a call from Soup yesterday morning, who runs the Panasonic Insider Crew, telling me that I was selected to attend the 2011 Panasonic Home Entertainment launch event in Melbourne on May 11! I didn’t want to talk about it until everything was 100% confirmed (it’s a long-standing Ukrainian superstition as otherwise you might jinx it), but now that it is I can tell you guys all about how excited I am :D

A little bit about the event:

The 2011 Panasonic Home Entertainment Launch takes place in Melbourne on May 11 and Soup have said that they would be flying two Panasonic Insider Crew members from Perth and Adelaide to attend. I was selected to be one of the lucky WA attendees!

I originally thought Soup were sending one person from each city, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that @Ian__Davies is going as well and saw that it was two people from each location. He is awesome. My only worry with him is mid-flight TimTam theft, if we end up on the same flight.

My flight from Perth leaves pretty early in the morning on the 11th of May, at 6:25am. I get to Melbourne at around 12pm so have a few hours to explore and get ready before the event at 6pm. Soup are putting me in a hotel overnight and my flight back to Perth is at 8:30am the next morning.

I’m looking forward to checking out Panasonic’s new products and hopefully live-tweeting from the event, because when it comes to me and seeing new gadgets I can’t help but whip out the Twitter action (they’re the only ones who listen…or pretend to ;)). I’d love to bring my DSLR along to take some better quality photos, but am worried that it’ll just be too bulky and uncomfortable to carry around the entire evening, so iPhone 4 photos may have to do.

I’ve never been outside of WA since we moved to Australia, which makes getting to go to Melbourne even more exciting. I know I’ve written a not-so-positive post about the Panasonic Insider Crew before, but it’s really looking like things are finally kicking off with this event.
